Oil Filled Radiators for the Elderly

For the elderly especially, keeping warm in the colder winter months is much more cost effective with oil filled radiators. Oil filled radiators always come out ahead when compared to some of the more traditional heating methods such as central heating or electric and gas heaters.

Whereas central heating can be expensive to run, electric heaters can become very hot when close to them meaning they can be dangerous for children or the elderly. Not only this, but electric heaters are never that effective at managing to heat up a space or room. The elements of the electric heater are also exposed, meaning there is a very real fire hazard risk in the wrong situation. And gas heaters have the problem of dangerous fumes escaping, which can make these hazardous as well.

Being energy efficient, oil filled radiators are more economical to run as well as being safer to use. These heaters work because they use a heat conserving oil which can be heated and then circulated around the radiator. This heat is then obviously “radiated” out into the room or space it is being used in where it heats the cold air it comes into contact with. The oil inside the radiator is not burned so it never needs to be replaced making it very cost effective.

As these radiators maintain the ideal temperature in the room they are in, this makes them ideal for use by the elderly. Everybody knows that all old people dread the cold weather of winter time as many of them cannot afford the extortionate prices that come with today’s heating bills. We hear many horror stories of the old and infirm getting sick during the winter months because they are very reluctant to switch on their central heating. Oil filled radiators can help people reduce heating costs in winter, helping them stay warm and healthy. They are safe to use and the surface temperature of the radiator does not reach dangerous levels.

This winter period is going to be ever so cold, so make sure that you have the needed heating oil in place.
